Can you
imagine living in a world where everyone spoke life through word and deed? Sadly, it seems more like a fantasy! Psalms 12:6 states, “The words of the Lord
are pure words, like silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.”
It’s good to know that though man lies, cheats, and degrades, we can still find
hope in God. The word of the Lord is
true, pure, and holy. Living in a world
of sin, we must turn to God for that word that will never harm nor deceive,
hurt nor burden. God’s very essence is
pure, and my prayer is that we all learn to explore the truth that’s in
God. May the articles, interviews and
reviews on the next few pages be enlightening, informative, and encouraging. Be
blessed by the ministry of Holy Hip Hop music.

What do
you get when you mix a gifted emcee with a brilliant poet? Well, you get an anointed and unique duo
called Platinum Souls. Together, they
bless us with the combined sounds of hip hop, poetry, reggae, and soul. Comprised of the poet, Ms. Ty Scott, and the emcee, Ricardo FLO, it’s only a matter of
time before Platinum Souls is a common name in many households. Following a series of divine meetings in the
“We wanted
the fusion to be balanced, and I felt that the union would be unique,” states
FLO.
Having
already shared stages with artists such as Bubba Sparx,
Mary Mary, Scarface, DMX
and Tank, Platinum Souls proudly shares their faith on every stage.
“One of
our ministry goals is to hold an annual conference to bring awareness of youth
ministry to the elders of the church,” says Ms. Ty
Scott. “We’d also like to develop
programs throughout the school system by holding seminars on poetry, rap, and
teaching kids how to evangelize through their gifts.”
The duo,
who believes in excellence in ministry, “want to tell people of the importance
of being about our Father’s business,” says Ricardo FLO.
Together,
they’ve also founded Eternal Fava
Management, to ensure that the careers of other young
acts are properly directed. Upon
observing the industry, Ty fears that “artists aren’t
concerned with what they’re; not understanding the power of words. No one wants to be a role model anymore.”
This is
one responsibility that Platinum Souls is willing to take on. They are currently working on a full-length
project, but in the meantime, look out for their mix tapes (Vols. 1-4). With airplay on various stations nationwide,
they’ve built an underground buzz. Be
sure to check out Platinum Souls.
